The International Nyingmapa Rigdzin Community has the great joy to announce that His Holiness the 17th Karmapa, Orgyen Trinley Dorje, has agreed to come to Switzerland to give a series of public talks, Buddhist teachings and initiations on 11 and 12 September 2010 in Lausanne, and on 18 and 19 September 2010 in Basel.
The events
On 11 and 12 September 2010, the Karmapa will present the following in Lausanne:
Buddhist teachings on ‘Meditation: Source of Inner Peace’
Initiation for the practice of Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche)
A public talk on ‘Buddhism and Science’
On 18 and 19 September, 2010, the Karmapa will present the following in Basel:
Buddhist teachings on ‘Happiness in Daily Life’
Initiation for the practice of Avalokiteshvara (Chenrezig), the Buddha of Compassion
A public talk on ‘Buddhism and Respect for the Environment’
The Karmapa will speak primarily in Tibetan. The teachings in Lausanne will be translated into French for the audience, and simultaneous translations will be available in English and German via headphones. The teachings in Basel will be translated into German for the audience, and simultaneous translations will be available in English and French via headphones.
